Skydive Arizona Kicks Off Fall with Halloween Boogie

Bu George Hargis

Skydive Arizona in Eloy kicked off its busy fall season with the Dia De Los Muertos Halloween Boogie October 25-28. The event began with a game night, which included a pumpkin-carving contest, cornhole, face painting, sugar-skull cookie eating and beer pong. The traditional Folklorico dancers helped dance the night way with their colorful dresses and skull-painted faces. Jumping activities included the Southwestern Skydiving Championships, an Arizona Skydiving League 4-way formation skydiving event. Project 19 Regional Captains Amberly Brown and Chazi Blacksher helped attendees of the Phase 1 Project 19 Camp work on their head-down skills for the upcoming 2020 women’s world record attempts. Justin Price of the Performance Designs Factory Team and Flight-1 provided canopy coaching and landing debriefs to boogie participants, and local vertical formation skydiving team Arizona Anthem hosted its yearly Crazy 8s vertical camp. The annual costume contest was a fierce competition, and the winner went home with a brand-new custom Curv container by Rigging Innovations.
