USPA Membership Frequently Asked Questions

USPA also partners with third-party programs to provide optional affinity benefits.

How do I join USPA or renew membership?

Annual membership can be purchased online, with a paper application, or by contacting membership services.

Temporary membership can only be purchased online.

Lifetime membership can only be purchased with a paper application or by contacting membership services.

How much does membership cost?

  • New annual membership: $98.00
  • Renewing annual membership: $83.00
  • Temporary membership: $38.00
  • Lifetime membership (U.S. Resident): $2,500.00
  • Lifetime membership (International Resident): $4,000.00

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, U.S. check or money order. Do not send cash!

How long does it take to process my application?

Online applications are processed immediately after payment. You will receive an email shortly after with a PDF copy of your membership card and receipt. Members can also access their digital membership card from within their USPA profile.

Mail or email applications may take up to 3 business days from receipt.

How do I get a membership card?

Members can view and print their digital membership card within their USPA profile.

Members who opt-in to a physical card before or at time of purchase will typically receive their card in the mail after 5-7 business days.

Members who opt-in to Merit can view their credentials on merits.com. Merit is a third-party service and USPA is not responsible for content on their website.

When should I get Parachutist magazine each month?

New members typically receive their first issue within 45 days after their membership is processed. For example, members who join in June will likely receive their first issue in August.

Parachutist typically arrives in mailboxes between the 1st and 15th of each month.

What does “Upgraded Magazine Delivery” mean?

Parachutist magazine is a standard benefit for members residing in the U.S. and Canada and is mailed periodical class. For deliveries within the United States, members can upgrade to first-class delivery service for an extra fee.

For international members who wish to receive a physical copy of Parachutist, delivery service is available for an extra fee.

  • Upgraded first-class magazine delivery (U.S./CAN only): $45.00
  • International magazine annual subscription (annual membership required): $35.00

What type of insurance is included with my USPA membership?

Every current individual member of USPA is covered by third-party property damage and third-party bodily injury liability insurance according to the terms and conditions of the policy while the member is jumping at a drop zone. The coverage is valid worldwide for members permanently domiciled in the U.S. or Canada and foreign members when skydiving in the U.S. and Canada, provided all claims and suits are brought in the U.S. or Canada.

Members are also eligible to purchase other types of insurance through third-party affinity benefits.

How do I purchase a new rating or renew my rating?

Each rating has requirements that must be completed and verified by an appropriate official before a new rating or rating renewal can be purchased. Members can see these requirements and completion progress in their USPA profile.

The most efficient way to verify completed requirements is to ask an appropriate official to verify them at uspa.org/verify. When all requirements have been verified, you can purchase the rating or renewal online.

Alternatively, complete the USPA Membership and Rating Renewal Application, acquire signature(s) from appropriate officials and send with payment via fax, email, or mail.

Can membership be transfered to a family member or another person?

No. USPA membership is non-transferable.

Does USPA offer membership refunds?

No. USPA membership is non-refundable.

Is USPA membership tax deductible?

No. USPA membership is non-tax-deductible.

Can I get a member’s phone number or address?

USPA does not release personal information about our members.

At USPA’s discretion, if time permits, and if you provide USPA with written permission, we can forward your contact information to the person you are looking for.
