USPA Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for Sale

USPA offers several Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for sale; most are for older aircraft used by skydiving operations. To purchase an STC, contact our Government Relations department.

What is a Supplemental Type Certificate?

Essentially, a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) is a patent that describes an FAA-approved aircraft modification. STCs are only approved for the exact aircraft models listed in the certificate. Owners of an STC can give or sell licenses, allowing the recipient to perform these modifications on an aircraft.

When is a Supplemental Type Certificate Required?

Modifications to an aircraft that are not specifically described in the Aircraft Flight Manual must be accomplished by FAA issuance of either a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) or a Field Approval (FAA Form 337).
