USPA B License
Members holding a valid USPA B License may exercise all privileges of the A License and perform night jumps.
Additionally, after reaching a total of 100 jumps, members holding a valid B-License are eligible to earn a USPA Coach Rating.
B-License Requirements
Official requirements can be found in SIM chapter 3. In summary, jumpers must:
- Be a current USPA member in good standing
- Meet the requirements of the A License or hold an A License
- Reach a total of 50 jumps
- Accumulate a total of 30 minutes of controlled freefall time
- Complete the Canopy Proficiency Card
- Take water training as described in SIM chapter 5
- On 10 jumps, land within 33 feet (10 meters) of a target center
- On 10 jumps, pre-plan and complete a formation in freefall, with five jumps involving three or more participants
- Pass the written exam with 75%+
USPA C License
Members holding a valid USPA C License may exercise all privileges of the B License, are eligible to earn USPA Instructor Ratings (except Tandem Instructor and Tandem Examiner) and may participate in certain demonstration jumps.
C-License Requirements
Official requirements can be found in SIM chapter 3. In summary, members must:
- Be a current USPA member in good standing
- Meet the requirements of the B License or hold a B License
- Reach a total of 200 jumps
- Accumulate a total of 60 minutes of controlled freefall time
- On 25 jumps, land within 7 feet (2 meters) of a target center
- On 50 jumps, pre-plan and complete a formation in freefall, with 10 jumps involving four or more participants
- Pass the written exam with 75%+
USPA D License
Members holding a valid USPA D License may exercise all privileges of the C License and are eligible to earn all USPA Ratings.
D-License Requirements
Official requirements can be found in SIM chapter 3. In summary, members must:
- Be a current USPA member in good standing
- Meet the requirements of the C License or hold a C License
- Reach a total of 500 jumps
- Accumulate a total of 180 minutes of controlled freefall time
- Complete two (2) of the following:
- On 100 jumps, land within 7 feet (2 meters) of a target center
- On 100 jumps, pre-plan and complete a formation in freefall, with 25 jumps involving eight or more participants
- A full ‘rotation’ of a canopy formation stack of three or more participants, starting and ending at the same position at least once
- An intentional water-landing jump
- An intentional night jump
- Pass the written exam with 75%+
