In May, Lee Baney, D-10487, received the USPA Regional Achievement Award for the Central Region during a ceremony at the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum in Omaha, Nebraska. Attending the presentation were members of the Lincoln Sport Parachute Club, the longest continuously operating skydiving club in the United States. Baney, who holds PRO and static-line instructor ratings, is a longtime member of the club and has promoted skydiving and educated skydivers in the Central Region for more than 50 years. Former student Melissa Stoddart and USPA Regional Director Charles Crinklaw presented the award, which is inscribed, “For dedication to the sport of skydiving for 50 years, including as an instructor and demonstration jumper, and for being inspirational to countless new skydivers as they advance their skills.”
