This toggle keeper is too short for the toggle it is meant to hold, leaving the jumper at risk of having the toggle release prematurely (“brake fire”) before or during deployment. This type of mismatch often occurs when a jumper switches main canopies and uses the new canopy’s toggles on the original risers. Toggles and risers should be kept together when possible, and jumpers should check with a rigger when switching toggles to make sure the components are compatible.
