Change your address

Have you moved recently or has your name changed? Let USPA know via e-mail, call (540) 604-9740; or fax your update to (540) 604-9741. To make sure we change the record for the right member, provide your current name and address along with your new one. Because of the Parachutist magazine print schedule, please allow 45 days for the change to take effect.

Magazine delivery inquiries

We make every effort to get your magazine to you on time and in good condition, but accidents can happen to anyone. If you have not received your magazine at your U.S. domestic address by the 10th of the month, please e-mail us, call (540) 604-9740 or fax us at (540) 604-9741. (Overseas addresses may take longer.) We will check to see if your address is correct. If your magazine is damaged often, please call or visit your local post office to let them know. Parachutist arrives at the regional sorting station wrapped in protective plastic. We will usually replace missing or severely damaged magazines at no charge.

Insurance programs

USPA third-party liability insurance
Third-party liability insurance comes with membership. All USPA individual members, regular or temporary, have coverage for property damage and bodily injury liability insurance in accordance with all the terms and conditions of the policy. The third-party liability insurance does not cover medical benefits to the member. This insurance is valid for skydives made in accordance with USPA's Basic Safety Requirements and the Federal Aviation Regulations. Most drop zones assure that jumpers have this type of insurance by requiring current USPA membership to jump there. All claims must be brought in the U.S. or Canada. To report a claim, call (866) 585-4590.

Third-party liability insurance that comes with USPA membership does not cover members performing exhibition or demonstration jumps, as defined by the Skydiver's Information Manual. Special insurance is available for qualified jumpers (see below).

USPA demonstration jump insurance
Regular third-party liability insurance included with USPA membership does not cover jumpers when performing demonstration jumps or exhibition jumps, according to the USPA-FAA definition found in the Skydiver's Information Manual. USPA members can obtain insurance for exhibition jumps at an additional cost. If you have questions or need additional details on demonstration jump insurance, call (866) 585-4590 or click here for additional information and demonstration jump forms.

Traveling with skydiving gear

The Transportation Safety Administration advises that skydivers take their rigs aboard the cabin with them when flying on commercial airline flights. All TSA screeners have been instructed that parachutes are allowed as carry-on or checked items, with or without automatic activation devices installed. Jumpers should still allow an additional 30 minutes in case of a search. MORE.
