Elsinore Hosts Its Infamous Poker Run

Five Minute Call
Tuesday, September 1, 2020

Members of team Elsinore Aerial celebrate their victory.

Skydive Elsinore in California held its 22nd annual Poker Run on June 29. This year’s event saw five teams participate in the combination 6-way formation skydiving meet and tequila-fueled poker game. Following each of the five rounds of competition, team members received a playing card for use in that evening’s game of Texas Hold ‘em. During the game, Master of Ceremonies Jason Reis penalized team members with tequila shots for infractions made during the day, such as losing a bootie on a skydive, arriving last to a dirt dive or for any arbitrary reason he chose.

Team Elsinore Aerial finished on top this year with a total of 40 points. The drop zone plans to continue the venerated tradition in the summer of 2021.
