Advanced Aerospace Designs Issues Reminders to Vigil Customers

Gear & Industry Spotlight
Sunday, December 1, 2019

On October 23, Advanced Aerospace Designs issued reminders of approaching deadlines for compliance with its last two service bulletins.

  • Service Bulletin 02-2018a: All Vigil II units with serial numbers between 16,000 and 21,999 must receive mandatory service by the manufacturer before December 31 to check an electrical connection. Affected units that do not receive this service may no longer be used for skydiving. Additionally, after December 31, the company will no longer pay return shipping for units it receives for this mandatory service.
  • Service Bulletin 01-2018: All Vigil II and Vigil 2+ units with firmware versions 05.05, 05.06, 06.01 or 06.02 must receive an upgrade by May 31, 2020, to correct problems associated with high-altitude jumps. Affected units that do not receive this service may no longer be used for skydiving. Additionally, after May 31, 2020, the company will no longer pay return shipping for units it receives for this mandatory service.

Customers can verify whether a Vigil affected by either of these two bulletins has received the mandatory service by visiting vigil.aero. Customers who need to send a unit to the factory for service must complete an online form at vigil.aero/rma prior to mailing the unit in.
