Safety Day Wrap-Up
USPA will report on Safety Day activities in the May issue of Parachutist magazine. Drop zones are encouraged to submit reports on the day's activities by March 17, 2008, for inclusion in the May issue.
DZs should include the following:
- Drop zone name and location
- Date of Safety Day event
- Number of participants
- Seminars held and names of speakers
- Sponsors
- Ches Judy Award recipient
- Photograph during the event
This year, Parachutist will highlight new or innovative techniques, discussions or presentations used to promote safety. Let us know what you did differently that might set you apart from other drop zones. The best will be printed in the magazine.
Drop zones holding the event on a later date may submit information by April 15, 2008, to be published in the June issue, provided space is available in the magazine. Reports and photographs may be sent via e-mail to communications@uspa.org.

Tandem Instructor Reminder
This is a friendly reminder regarding the upcoming changes to the USPA Basic Safety Requirements regarding tandem instructor ratings. The 2009 Skydiver’s Information manual will include a change in the BSRs that will require any USPA member performing tandem jumps to hold a USPA Tandem Instructor rating and manufacturer approval. This applies to any USPA member performing tandem jumps, either in the U.S. or abroad, and at either Group Member or non-Group Member drop zones. USPA has posted guidelines to help clarify the changes at www.uspa.org/licenses/ratings.htm#future.
