Leaping for Lupus Skydiver Lysa Adams recently co-founded the non-profit organization Leap for Lupus Foundation to raise awareness and money for medical research to help find a cure for lupus, an autoimmune disease. Adams became involved in the cause when her friend and fellow skydiver, Valinda Mitchell, almost died from the devastating disease in 2003. Mitchell now serves as president of the foundation. Jumpers interested in helping with the cause or any jumpers who have lupus and would like to share their stories should visit www.leapforlupus.org or e-mail Adams at lysa@leapforlupus.org. Skydivers wishing to be a part of the event should visit www.skydivekapowsin.com.
