First-place finisher Clint Clawson tears up the distance course.

Instead of the PST's usual five-foot entry gate for the carving speed course, this event used a ten-foot-tall gate and a straight course to comply with the International Parachuting Commission's requirements for an open competition. This allowed both pro and advanced swoopers to compete on the same course.

At the end of the day, J.C. Colclasure from Go Fast Team Extreme placed first in the speed event. Heath Richardson of the Performance Designs Factory Team took second, and Colclasure's teammate, Clint Clawson, finished third.

For Friday's distance event, the course ran 550 feet from the five-foot entry gate at the beginning of the pond. After passing through the entry gate, a jumper's first point of contact with the water or ground determined his score.

Jason Eames splits the water on his way to a first-place finish in accuracy.

At the end of the distance event, Luke Aikins from Team Xaos had the top spot with a 405-foot run, followed by PD's Jay Moledzki and Jeff Provenzano, also of Team Xaos.

Saturday's accuracy course started with a ten-foot entry gate. Several gates over the water followed, and competitors earned more points for dragging a toe through more consecutive gates. Once on shore, three graduated landing zones earned them different points, the farthest one the most valuable. But if they didn't stop by the end of the final zone, they lost points.

Jason Eames of Virginia placed first with a perfect score. Dave Hebert of Georgia took second, with Hawaiian Kevin Love in third.
