USPA is located in Fredericksburg, Virginia, 50 miles south of Washington, D.C., along Interstate 95. The government relations staff at USPA Headquarters includes aviation governing professionals. USPA maintains access at the highest level of the FAA and federal government. These important human resources defend skydiving from those in government and industry who believe U.S. airports and airspace should be reserved for major commercial interests.

USPA members receive third-party liability skydiving insurance, which includes bodily injury and property damage, as part of membership. USPA members can purchase third-party liability insurance for exhibition jumps, not covered by regular member insurance. Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance is available for an additional fee.

USPA members may qualify for USPA skydiving licenses, which are international certificates of proficiency. Membership makes skydivers eligible to compete in national and international meets. USPA sanctions the U.S. Parachuting Championships and selects the U.S. Parachute Team for international competition.
