USPA Board Meeting Concludes


The USPA Board of Directors met July 24-26 in Hartford, Connecticut, for the final meeting of its three-year term. A highlight of the results follows:

The board selected Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Rochelle, Illinois, to host the first-ever USPA National Championships of Wingsuit Flying in late September or early October 2015. Exact dates will be announced shortly.

The board selected to award the following:

  • The USPA Lifetime Achievement Award to B.J. Worth
  • The Gold Medal for Meritorious Service to Carolyn Clay, Kate Cooper-Jensen and Alicia Moorehead
  • The USPA Regional Achievement Award to—
    • Gary Lincoln-Hope (Foreign)
    • Slavo Mulik (Southwest)
    • Edward Ristaino (Mid-Atlantic)
    • Fran Strimenos (Northeast)

USPA has delegated team selection and management for the upcoming 1st World Championships of Indoor Skydiving to the International Bodyflight Association. Email Laura Wagner at for more information.

Group Member drop zones are invited to submit bids to host a 2016 World Parachuting Championships of Wingsuit Flying by the September 15 deadline. Email Jim Hayhurst at for more information.

Effective March 1, 2016, all USPA Safety & Training Advisors must complete the S&TA training module at within 60 days of their appointments.
