Canopy Piloting Nationals Underway!

The 2016 USPA National Championships of Canopy Piloting is underway at Skydive City Zephyrhills in Florida. The meet started Wednesday morning, April 6, and runs through Friday. DZ hosts T.K. Hayes and Joannie Murphy welcomed a field of 55 competitors (31 in the open class and 24 in advanced) at Tuesday evening’s opening ceremonies and competitors’ briefing. A meet staff of 16 judges and volunteers are joining USPA Director of Competition James Hayhurst, Meet Director Buzz Bennett and Chief Judge Lee Schlichtemeier to run the meet.

Adding to the excitement, this championships will serve as the selection event for the eight members of the U.S. Team that will compete at the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale Canopy Piloting World Championships in Farnham, Canada, in August.

Skydive-TV (just back from the Australian National Championships) is providing comprehensive daily event coverage on the Skydive-TV website.

Control Tower, the official scoring system of the competition, will provide live scores and daily summary results at USPA CP National Championship 2016.
