USPA is excited to announce that we’re again hosting our biennial Drop Zone Operators’ Conference in conjunction with the 2013 Parachute Industry Association Symposium. The conference will take place Sunday evening and all day Monday, March 24-25, in Daytona Beach, Florida.
If you’ve never been to a DZO Conference before, the event offers a fantastic opportunity to network with other DZOs, learn about the latest safety and legal issues and gather lots of new marketing ideas. If you’ve attended the conference before, you already know you won’t want to miss this one. We’ll have experts in a variety of areas of DZ operation providing important information and useful ideas for drop zone owners, managers and staff.
As an added bonus, one DZO Conference attendee from each DZ qualifies for a discounted PIA full registration fee of $125. That’s a $100 discount for the symposium. With a DZO Conference registration fee of $125 for Group Member DZs, the conference practically pays for itself!
The one-day USPA DZO Conference will include:
- A series of marketing presentations for drop zones of all sizes with specific ideas on improving student retention
- A panel of tandem experts to provide concrete suggestions on improving the safety of your tandem operation
- A presentation on liability and ensuring the validity of DZ waivers
- A review of canopy training requirements for the B-license, along with discussion of DZs’ different approaches to canopy safety
- The DZO Roundtable, an open discussion to exchange ideas
- An update on how USPA is working for you
USPA’s DZO Conference
Date—Monday, March 25, with a welcome, introductions and a reception on Sunday evening, March 24.
Location—The Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, Daytona Beach, Florida. Room rates are $129 (plus tax). Call the hotel at (386) 254-8200 and mention PIA group code “PIA13.”
Registration—The registration fee for a Group Member DZO is $125. Additional attendees from your DZ pay $70 each. Registration includes a lunch and reception. Complete the registration form and return it to USPA by February 22.
PIA Symposium
PIA’s International Parachute Symposium is at the same hotel from March 25-29. PIA’s early full registration fee of $195 for PIA members/$225 for non-members ends December 1. After that, registration increases to $295 for members/$325 for non-members. Go to

USPA Board Meeting
The newly elected USPA Board of Directors will meet March 22-24 at the same location. All USPA members are invited to attend.
